A Double-Double-Header Weekend!

After Erik landed at Newark Airport at 1 a.m. on Saturday, Erik and Katy were back together in the big city!

On Saturday, while Katy worked, Erik played the first of two weekend softball games with the Duke Club of NY, losing in extra innings to the friendly folks from the University of Chicago.

That night, after a tasty southwestern dinner and margaritas at Mustang Grill & Tequila Lounge, we hit up the movie theater for a double-feature. First, Katy dragged Erik, kicking and screaming, to see "Sex and the City", which fortunately wasn't nearly as bad as the HBO series on which the movie is based. After that fantastic moving picture show, we headed across the hall and saw "Get Smart", which was really, really funny.

On Sunday, Erik played in the second weekend softball game against Duke's hated rivals. . .the Tar Holes of North Carolina. This was a scene from The Sandlot. We showed up with only eight players (a ninth showed up late), no uniforms, and a ragtag bunch of misfits. They showed up with twenty players, three coaches, sparkling baby-blue jerseys, and a heaping pile of attitude. Then we trounced them by twelve runs. Go Duke.
