Fajitas, The Banshee, and a Beautiful Spring Day!

We took our first stab at NYC Mexican food last night at Cilantro. And the verdict is. . .not bad, not bad at all. The mushroom quesadilla appetizer was up there with Mi Cocina, the beef fajitas were almost (but not quite) as good as Uncle Julio's, and the margaritas were stronger (believe it or not) than Anamia's. Of course, it wasn't the same eating Mexican food without Josh & Ro (our Uncle Julio's partners) or Doc & Muffi, Jeannie & Paul, or Kim & Allan (our Anamia's team)! We have already located three other Mexican food restaurants within a couple blocks. . .

After dinner, we spent a couple hours at our friendly neighborhood pub. . .The Banshee Pub. Great little bar with a great atmosphere and cold beer. Now we just need to get to know some of our neighbors!

Today, the sun came out for a beautiful spring day. So, we tied our sneakers and trekked west to Central Park, which is a ten-minute walk from our apartment. The park is beautiful and full of New Yorkers enjoying a warm spring day. We watched a few different performers, highlighted by a little jazz combo on the west side of the park. After walking for a while, we grabbed a couple hot dogs from the hot dog stand (why do hot dogs taste so good when they come from a cart in the middle of the street?) and then wandered back toward our neighborhood.

Enjoy a few of our pictures from Central Park!

With love,

Erik & Katy
